Unpaid Internship – Corporate Services: Accounting & Operations
Summary
- Assists with month-end close including: analyzing and summarizing monthly credit card receipts; reviewing & auditing Intern time sheets, summaries, and journal entries; accounting analysis and reconciliation; preparing monthly financial reports; and compiling Executive and Board of Directors packages.
- Reviews and/or creates Profit and Loss Statement for WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego events.
- Accounts for daily cash/checks and credit card receipts and prepares bank deposits.
- Generates accounts receivable invoices and maintains customer invoices files.
- Corresponds with vendors and respond to inquiries.
- Sorts and matches accounts payable checks, supplier invoices, staff expense reports, packing list, and check requests.
- Maintains business card reader system for contact information entry to database.
- Compiles documentation of grant expenditures.
- Assists with the year-end audits.
Requirements
- MBA or BS Accounting, Finance or related field
- Knowledge of general accounting principles
- Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Attention to detail, strong communication and problem-solving skills
